Handmade Heart Candle
This design is wonderful for gift giving and uses a similar technique as the sushi design.
Use pink or red, black and your choice of an outer colour. Cut into strips just like you did for the sushi design.
Take three strips of your red or pink and roll tightly.
Measure and cut your wick using a roll as your guide for length.
Here is the picture from the sushi design, just use all pink/red instead of the three colours.
Heat the three rolls and press firmly around the wick. Again, the picture of this technique from sushi.
Now is the part that requires some finesse and sets the sushi and heart designs apart. Heat and shape until you get your heart shape. This is very finicky and takes time. Ensure your heart is pressed firmly around the wick.
Wrap the heart in a layer of black or other dark wax (this helps it pop), trim the wax to ensure you have only one complete layer.
Now wrap the outside with your choice of colours. Ensure you heat and press the final seams to seal them.
Give to someone you love!
