Halloween Art and Math STEAM Project
Halloween is a BIG holiday around here. Every year we come up with new and exciting ways to celebrate the holiday. I thought my kids would outgrow their love of Halloween, but they only enjoy it more every year! This year we have some new projects, but the biggest one was creating this massive Halloween Art project that uses Math to provide you with the perfect Halloween STEAM Activity for your classroom or home!

Each year we celebrate Halloween and I know so many STEAM Powered Family readers also love Halloween. Our 31 Days of Halloween STEM Activities is always popular. The one area that we were missing was Arts.
We are known as the STEAM Powered Family because we believe in the importance of creativity and the arts as part of STEM learning. Plus, as a writer, I am always encouraging my kids to read and write.
With that in mind we are crazy excited about this massive new project we created this year.
Introducing the Halloween STEAM Art Project with Bonus Writing Prompts Craftivities!
Halloween Math and Art
In this activity we combine math with art. Students are challenged to use a ruler and protractor to draw lines at precise distances in the designs. Then, between each quadrant, students offset each set of lines by a certain degree.
Classroom tip! Ask the students to use slightly different distances between the lines, or rotate different degrees between the quadrants. Then as a class look at how it changes the final art pieces. Which one do they like the best?

BONUS WRITING PROMPTS AND CRAFTS
Some of the designs come with a bonus activity. Print and assemble designs by cutting and gluing the pieces together to create the design (pieces can be printed on coloured paper or coloured by the kids). Plus there is a fun writing prompt to help kids tell a fun Halloween inspired story.

To do this project you will need:

White paper (card stock is best but regular works too)
Fine tip black marker
Ruler
Protractor
Coloured Craft Paper (variety of colours)
Scissors
Glue stick
Pencil or pen
