Embrace the fizz by making your own Rainbow Sprinkle Bath Bomb Fizzy Cubes with this simple recipe.
In a large mixing bowl, add the baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salts, arrowroot powder and kaolin clay. Mix dry ingredients together. Be cautious with this step around younger kids as the citric acid can be irritating if it gets airborne. And their chaotic pouring and stirring and send it puffing up into the air.
In a microwave safe measuring cup add the coconut oil and avocado butter oil. Melt in short spurts in the microwave until just liquid. Add the essential oils. Mix the liquids together.
Add the liquids to the dry mix bowl. Using your hands mix everything together really well. As you mix you will feel the consistency change. You want it to feel like wet sand and clump when you squish it or press it.
Mix in the rainbow nonpareils.
Add the mixture to the cube mold, filling to the top and packing down firmly. Allow the molds to sit undisturbed in a warm dry place to set up and harden. This will take approximately 48 hours. Tap the cubes to feel if they are nice and hard before trying to remove them from the mold. If you try to remove them too early, they will break.
To release the bath bomb cubes, gently twist the silicone mold like an ice cube tray. When the cubes begin to lift out, pull gently to remove them. Make sure they are stored in an airtight container until you are ready for bath time.
