Mother’s Day is coming up so fast. This year is a little extra special for me because it marks 10 years since I celebrated my first Mother’s Day as a Mom. Over the years my husband has dubbed me the Mother of Dragons and I wear that geeky moniker with great pride! With that in mind, I’ve put together a list of my favourite gifts for the Mother of Dragons and Geek Moms in your life.

I’m a huge fan of arm warmers and cozy cowls. When I found out I could get pieces inspired by Outlander I was in love! The styling on this show is amazing and I know I can trust Abbyshot to make quality pieces. I have a few of their items and they are fantastic.
I know I’m not the only mom who sneaks cookies in the kitchen. This geek approved Game of Thrones dragon egg cookie bowl is perfect for a Mother of Dragons! This awesome item is from ThinkGeek, which is like a candy story for geek moms. No matter what she loves, you will probably find the perfect gift here.
If you have spent anytime around me, you know I’m obsessed with books! I love writing them, reading them, and generally immersing myself in the written word. So what’s the perfect gift? A gift certificate to a favourite book store. You can also check out my recommendations for gifts for writers here.
For the mom who’s also a Doctor Who fan the list is endless! I recently created a list dedicated exclusively to Doctor Who. You can check out here. And to add to that list here are a couple of new items I’ve discovered.
Looking for something truly unique for your special someone? How about a one of a kind, hand forged piece of jewelry that you can customize in your mom’s favorite colour and comes beautifully presented in a burlap bag with excelsior filling? Check out Daelen Forge for some beautiful, unique pieces. Like this Octo Chulhu!
Full disclosure, Daelen Forge is my new company with my husband who is a very talented artisan blacksmith. I might be a little biased, but I think his work is truly stunning. Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think. Geeks love these vintage, throw back to the old ways, creations!
One final idea, I don’t know a single mom, geek or not, who wouldn’t love some help in the kitchen now and again. Why not purchase these crockpot recipe books for your mom, but before giving them to her, prepare some of the freezer meals and surprise her with a stocked freezer! Not only are you giving her a fantastic set of cookbooks, but you are also giving her a couple of nights off from the kitchen. And I don’t know a single mom who doesn’t love that!
