We love our books around here. Our shelves are overflowing, I have boxes downstairs that we can’t close. There are books everywhere. So when I was offered the chance to review the new KidArtLit program, I of course said YES!

KidArtLit – Art Kit Meets Story Time
KidArtLit is a new subscription box program that brings together story time with an art project. They provide everything you need in the box for the project. What I appreciated most is that they included enough supplies to do the project with two children. Sometimes these boxes only have enough materials for one person to do the project, and I really like that I was able to use it with both my boys.
I admit, I was a tiny bit hesitant about this program, only because my boys are older than their recommended ages of 3 to 7 years old. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much my boys enjoyed the box.
The book in our box was the biggest highlight. It is a very simple read which was great for my struggling reader. And the art – STUNNING! My kids were enthralled and even took the book from me after I read it to study all the pictures. They really enjoyed looking at all the details and finding little hidden things in the images.
From there we did the projects in the box. Making the boat on a stick was the favourite part. One boy even made his a pirate ship!
I was very impressed with the box. Are my boys a little old for it at 8 and 11? Yes, but they still enjoyed it and had fun. The artwork in the book was inspiring and encouraged creativity in my children. I call that a big win for KidArtLit.
