Welcome to the seventh tip in our series on digital photo organization – It’s Time For a Photo Revolution – Get control over the digital media cluttering up your devices and life! This series will help you organize and store all those photos on your various devices. Protecting them and making sure they will last you a lifetime. With these simple steps you can get control over the digital media in your life!
If you missed the first posts in the series you can check out our big picture discussion, literally, where we went and counted how many photos we had on our various devices, and those numbers were scary big! So many photos and memories that are getting lost in the shuffle.
Then we talked about taking the crud out and scaling down the masses into a somewhat easier to manage pile. Then we talked about the whens and whys of downloading, followed by the hows and organizing your downloads so your photos will start to be organized!
We further organized our photos by pulling out the best of the best, giving them a little extra love, then creating some beautiful, lasting physical memories in the form of photobooks.
Finally we made sure to back up all those photos on storage devices we control.
But now what do you do with photos you don’t have in digital format? Or what about those projects or items you want to preserve the memory of, but maybe not keep the item? I know I’m not the only parent with piles of craft projects piled up! And some of those creations have fleeting shelf lives.
So our next tip for preserving those memories is GETTING CREATIVE WITH THE SHOTBOX.
So I know many, many people that are avid scrapbookers (is that a word???) and my photobooks don’t have the items that they love so much. There is a solution. Those craft projects that are so hard to store, concert tickets, favourite toys and more that you would have somehow stuck into a scrap book can now be photographed in a way that gives you amazing images that will preserve the memory for ages!
ShotBox is a photo box that works with your cell phone or camera. It includes perfect lighting so you can capture every detail of your items.
Got some old pictures? Lay them out in a beautiful collage and snap some perfectly lit pictures. Instant preservation of your memories! You don’t even need to remove those delicate images from their frames.
Those craft projects that are so delicate and will fall apart easily, snap some pictures to capture your child’s hard work. Then create a photobook of those photos to showcase all their hardwork without all the clutter.
The ShotBox is a fantastic new step forward in digital memory preservation.
You know what else the ShotBox is good for? Videos and Stop Motion Videography! Stop Motion is all the rage with kids and teens. The ShotBox makes it easy for your kids to create and explore this cool technology.
It’s a fantastic tool to have in your home and a great way to preserve memories without the clutter.
I had the chance to play with the ShotBox this past summer and it will be released to the public in December. You can preorder now and have yours in time for the holidays. I can’t wait for mine to arrive, it is going to take our homeschool yearbook to the next level!
